FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
Philadelphia, PA. August 1, 2023. A new event series has popped up on the Philly scene and it’s combining fashion, movement, and cannabis rhetoric to bring visibility to sustainability and wellness initiatives in the BIPOC & Latinx Communities. Spear-headed by local LGBTQ event Organizer, Fame Neal (she/her), and Cannabis Cultivation Consultant Rachele Sanchez (she/her), EXHALE Philly is a culmination of combined community organizing and event curation over the last 10 years. The pair emphasizes food justice and sustainability in addition to mental health awareness and the healing properties of cannabis.

Lezcronymz Owner Fame Neal put her slogan “Fashion Speaks Louder Than Words” into practice and has partnered with local Philadelphia–but NY born and raised–fashion designer Bre Scott of Sky Stitched Designs. The goal is to raise awareness around Fashion sustainability and ethically sourced clothing. Scott learned to crochet knit from practicing with her grandmother growing up who has since passed away. Knitting quickly became her place of peace as was time spent with her grandmother and before long she was designing crochet clothing for entire fashion shows. A few of Sky-Stitched Designs newer additions includes a “Cloud” Purse made from the softest Blanket yarn and living up to it’s name.

Sky Stitched Designs is committed to fashion inclusivity and accessibility. The brand is for those who like innovative designs that bring anime inspirations to reality. The company believed in a “yes!” mindset when it comes to fashion accessibility. The “Sky Stitched Doll” models speak to that effort and embrace all body-types, genders, and non-binary folk alike.
“We’re thrilled to partner with a brand like Sky-Stitched who actually practices what they preach in terms of accessibility. Bre is also passing a gift onto others by sharing her skill with our community the way her grandmother shared it with her. Sky Stitched Designs is inherently the manifestation of love in Fashion form.”
Fame Neal, EXHALE Philly Co-Creator
Bre Scott (she/her) of Sky Stitched Designs plans to share her crochet skills via a hands-on workshop where she will teach others how to create their own designs. You can catch the creators and host of EXHALE II in custom crochet Sky-Stitched Designs during the event. If you can keep a secret: There’s also a rumor that a pop-up fashion show might ensue.

Scott will be in attendance for the EXHALE II Vendor Fair and will have some of her creations ready to go to the most deserving crochet fanatic. You might be surprised at what Bre Scott can do with a little crochet and a lot of color.
Check out Sky Stitched Designs on Instagram and online.
EXHALE II takes place on August 13th at a secret location in West Philadelphia. The event will feature a Brunch & Mimosa Bar, Spoken Word Artists, Soundbaths, Massage Therapy, Wellness Vendors, and musical vibrations by DJ Na$h. RSVP now for Brunch, Open bar, and General Access passes.
